These Hana Bonito flake shavings are large and of very high quality with very little dust. They are perfect to make a savory dashi stock with lots of Umami. You need 20 grams of flakes boiled at middle temperature for about 1 minute in 800cc of hot water to make a basic dashi stock.
They also can be used as toppings on vegetable dishes, tofu or okonomiyaki as they will add an intense smoky flavor.
