UMENATTO is a traditional Japanese WAGASHI dessert made of preserved ume plums. A rare and very soft variety of the ume plum is harvested after ripening and is preserved in sugar and honey and sun-dried. The results is a dessert with a nice balance of sweetness and the plum's natural acid. UMENATTO is often served with green tea but can also be enjoyed with black tea or coffee.UMENATTO is available in three sizes (6, 9 or 16) in a beautiful Japanese style box that also makes a beautiful and authentic gift.
The producer Chinriu Honten is specialized in making products from ume and shiso herb since 1871. The company was established by the last chief-cook of Odawara castle. Since its first days Chinriu Honten has been known throughout Japan for the quality of its pickles and sweets made from Ume plum and shiso herb.
