Kansei 12th year (1716~1800), born in Kyoto. He studied the Kano school while working as a wholesaler of green goods in the family business, but at the age of 39, he handed over the family governorship to his younger brother and began to devote himself to painting. While studying the ancient paintings of the Yuan and Ming dynasties and the decorative paintings of the Japanese and Chinese dynasties called the Kōrinpa school, he worked as a sketcher of flora and fauna, and was particularly good at painting chickens. Because of his unique painting style, he was called "the painter of fantasy". His representative work is "Moving Pictures".
