Hakone wood mosaic refers to a type of wood marquetry from Hakone in the Kanagawa Prefecture. The Hakone zaiku, or Hakone marquetry has been produced in the region for hundred of year, it is a very old tradition of woodcraft in Japan.

Japanese Candles made their first apparition in the Taiheiki, a historical epic book that was written in the late 14th century, which is when they started to be produced. The are very different from western candles in terms of material and shape. The candles are made of vegetable wax and the wicks are made of Japanese paper.

Riusuke Fukahori was born 1973 in Aichi prefecture where he also graduated at a design university in 1995. It is on 2002 that Riusuke started using acrylic and resin to meticulously draw goldfish layer by layer to achieve a 3D effect close to a sculpture. The result are very realistically looking goldfishes frozen in time swimming in all kind of containers ranging from wooden tubs in all sizes, shells, metal boxes or bamboo.

The origin of of Edo Kiriko dates back to 1834 in the Edo period when Kagaya Kyubei, a glass artisan working in Edo (nowadays Tokyo), used emery powder to produce glassware with engraved with patterns.
Edo Kiriko captivated the hearts of many people since its birth approximately 150 years ago. Not only Japanese recognize its beauty, but also Commodore Perry who arrived in Edo 1853 with his black warship was deeply impressed by the artistry and elegance of Edo Kiriko. It also was offered to the international guests during the G8 summit in Toya in 2008.
