  • Collotype is an interesting fusion between French and Japanese discoveries. The printing process was discovered in France, about 150 years ago. It was a new style of printing that combines photography and printmaking and the results are one-of-a-kind. BENRIDO was established in 1887 in Kyoto, where they have been specializing in Collotype printing since 1905. With over a century of experience in the craft, they are one of the very few Collotype studios left, and the world’s only one that produces full-color photographic Collotype prints. They have won several awards and recognitions and have been responsible for many big art works and projects in Japan and abroad.

Jakaku Ito is a maverick painter who opened up the horizons of unexplored beauty, isolated from the tide of Japanese painting. Born in Kyoto in Kyoho-Kansei 12 years (1716-1800). While studying the Kano school while being a family-owned wholesaler, he transferred his family to his younger brother at the age of 39 and began to concentrate on painting. While studying the original paintings of Akira Ming and the decorative paintings of Japanese and Chinese called Korinha, he worked as a sketch of flora and fauna, and was particularly good at drawing chicken. He was called "a strange painter" because of his unique style. A representative work is "Aido Uesai."

The right-hand ship of one of the masterpieces of his later years, "Kutanazu Oshie-paste folding screen", which is one of the most famous works of six songs, has been faithfully reproduced with the delicate touch of the original brush and the change in ink. This artwork represents 12 kinds of vegetables that are often eaten every day, 6 kinds of vegetables are reduced to two stylish folding screens without breaking the humorous beauty. The folding screen is suitable not only for Japanese-style rooms but also for contemporary Western spaces.
