The glass part is carefully designed to beautifully let the candle light shine through. The bottom is made from thinned Japanese Hinoki cypress trees. Hinoki is a very commonly used type of wood in Japanese building. Only the left over parts, not suitable for building, are being used for hinoki crafts - which is an environmental friendly solution.
Designed based on 40 mm sizes candles/tea lights.
Founded in Tokyo in 1899, Hirota Glass has established itself as one of the pioneers of Japanese Glassware. They have created their own signature style combining Japanese traditional craftsmanship with European designs.
HIROTA GLASS was founded back in 1899 as a glassware tableware store in Tokyo. About fifteen years later they started to actually produce Kiriko cut glasses, making a foundation for their core business today.
Hirota Glass has over time established itself as a pioneer in the Japanese Handmade Glassware industry and has become well known and awarded for their signature style; combining European traditional glassmaking techniques with Japanese traditional post-war designs.
