Yosegi Zaiku Hakone Wood Mosaic Wall Clock

‘Yosegi-zaiku’, literally ‘wooden mosaic craft, dates back all the way to the Edo period (1603–1868) and is made with different types, textures and colors of wood to create unique, outstanding patterns. It takes approximately ten years for a craftsman to become proficient in Yosegi. A lot of training, attention to detail, creativity and knowledge is required in order to make beautifully fitted patterns and smooth products without sharp edges. 

This wall clock is beautiful adaptation of traditional Japanese wood mosaic to modern times. Due to its complexity and high demand, we will order the clock from the supplier after you have placed the order. Please note that each clock is slightly different due to the nature of the craft. After you have placed your order, we will send a picture of the design available at that time and you can confirm whether you are happy to proceed.
