A unique, traditional Japanese and super-indulging treat for yourself or a lucky friend or loved one!
Masu cups have played an important part in Japanese traditions for over 1300 years. The small square cups made of Hinoki wood were originally used to measure rice and other food items, but increasingly became popular as sake cups and cups used during (wedding) celebrations. The distinct hinoki cypress wood scent is soothing and and often used material in Japanese onsen hot springs. MASUYA (est. 1950) is based in Gifu, a prefecture famous for its Cypress trade, and a specialist in Masu items. No wood is cut for the purpose of Masu cups; they are crafted by recycling wood that did not meet the standards for construction materials - an environmentally conscious craft.
The 'Math Salt' sets utilize these traditional cups and their long-standing success in the Japanese bathing culture, by filling them with Premium, mineral-rich French Sea Salt (from the salt marshes of Camargue, a natural region located South of France, between the Mediterranean Sea and the two arms of the Rhône River delta), and relaxing herbs. Simply empty the contents in the water and watch the salt melt away, while the scent of the Hinoki masu cups and the high quality herbs fill your bathroom and the salt embraces and softens your body.
