This bag is made from precious beautiful materials, completely hand made and only on request. It must be protected from dust and humidity and conserve in a place with good ventilation. The colors and shape are simple and this king of handbag is often wear with kimono.

Suruga bamboo basketry from Shizuoka prefecture is different from most other bamboo basketry in Japan. It is unique for using round splints of bamboo without the skin being shaved off. It dates back to the beginning of the Edo period (1600 - 1868) when warriors almost exclusively made bamboo goods as a side job in more peaceful times. Being located on the highly frequented Tokaido road between Edo and Kyoto Suruga basketry became very popular as a souvenir for travelers.

NOTE:
- The Bamboo items are hand crafted and each piece is unique. The color and finishing may therefore be slightly different from the photo.
- Handle with care. Use a soft brush to remove dust and dirt, and wipe it gently with a well-wrung cloth to clean.
- Do not wash with (hot) water.
- The color of the bamboo may change over time, depending on the storing conditions.
