Umeboshi are traditional Japanese sour plums, still popular today due to their wide range of health benefits. They are mostly eaten by itself as a snack, on top of rice or inside rice balls.

Umeboshi are known to battle or even cure fatigue, alcohol poisoning/hangovers, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, Infections and more. Their unique flavor easily gives your meal an authentic Japanese touch. 

These Kobai umeboshi have been pickled together with red umeboshi shiso vinegar. The result is a classic salty and sour umeboshi with an beautifully balanced red shiso flavor. The added red shiso flavor is popular with people who find the original ume plums too salty. The shiso also adds more nutritional- as well as anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits.
