These Yuzu Mochi are handmade by CHINRIU - a specialist for condiments, pickles and sweets made of ume plum, red shiso and sakura cherry blossoms, established in 1871. 


Yuzu mochi is a traditionally Japanese, plant based sweet, made from Japan's 'Yuzu' citrus skin. Peeled and crystallized in sugar, the sweetness of the sugar and acid flavor of the yuzu create a delicious balance. Being made of nothing but yuzu, sugar and "agar agar" (a seaweed-derived gelling agent) the yuzu mochi is a natural, plant based sweet suitable for both halal and vegan diets. It can be enjoyed with Japanese tea, or be used in or on desserts. Additionally, you can use it as an ingredient for pastries or baking, as the intense sweet-sour taste will add a natural flavor to your pastries!
