Founded in Tokyo in 1899, Hirota Glass has established itself as one of the pioneers of Japanese Glassware. They have created their own signature style combining Japanese traditional craftsmanship with European designs.
The inside of the pot has a ’core' that will help you to drink the best chilled sake, tea and lemonade! Fill the core with a bit of cold water and plenty of ice to thoroughly chill the contents of the pot, without watering down the beverage. This allows to you to serve a large amount of drinks at the same time and to leave the pot on the table when serving guests. As the ice will not melt in your drink, the quality won't be affected.
The outer layer is heat-resistant glass and allows the pot to be used for warm sake and tea. Please remove the core when using the pot for warm drinks, as this glass is not heat-resistant!
HIROTA GLASS was founded back in 1899 as a glassware tableware store in Tokyo. About fifteen years later they started to actually produce Kiriko cut glasses, making a foundation for their core business today.
Hirota Glass has over time established itself as a pioneer in the Japanese Handmade Glassware industry and has become well known and awarded for their signature style; combining European traditional glassmaking techniques with Japanese traditional post-war designs.
