Umeboshi are traditional Japanese sour plums, still popular today due to their wide range of health benefits. They are mostly eaten by itself as a snack, on top of rice or inside rice balls.

Umeboshi are known to battle or even cure fatigue, alcohol poisoning/hangovers, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, Infections and more. Their unique flavor easily gives your meal an authentic Japanese touch. 

These small umeboshi have been ripened for a year. Despite being very salty and sharp, they are easy to eat due to their small size. These are quite rare and are often bought as a gift or a special occasion. The red shiso makes them even more nutritious and adds anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits, as well as a more balanced flavor, which is often preferred by those finding the regular ume plums too overwhelming.
