Umeboshi are traditional Japanese sour plums, still popular today due to their wide range of health benefits. They are mostly eaten by itself as a snack, on top of rice or inside rice balls.

Umeboshi are known to battle or even cure fatigue, alcohol poisoning/hangovers, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, Infections and more. Their unique flavor easily gives your meal an authentic Japanese touch. 

This colorful Kohaku set combines classic 1 year matured umeboshi with a strong, impact sourness,  with red shiso pickled umeboshi, which have a more soft flavor. The set is beautiful and makes for a great gift or souvenir. It is also ideal for those who want to try different umeboshi classics at once. 

These sets are served in a traditional wooden barrel with a ribbon made of real bamboo. It is not only a beautiful and sturdy way to present and store the umeboshi, but afterwards the barrel can also be used for decorative purpose or to serve rice.
