Umeboshi are traditional Japanese sour plums, still popular today to their wide range of health benefits. They are mostly eaten by itself as a snack, on top of rice or inside rice balls.

These are very salty and very sour umeboshi - a real Japanese classic. They are made with ripe plums and therefore have a very fruity aftertaste. They typically are eaten with a bowl of rice or are used to make onigiri rice-balls.

This umeshu plum wine is very unique. It is the only umeshu in Japan that combines sake and brown sugar. The result is a not-too sweet plum wine that also has a slight notion of bitterness from the brown sugar. The brand name "NAGAREUME" literally means floating ume. The word "KOKUTO" means brown sugar.
This umeshu plum wine is made with sake. The plums and the rock sugar are soaked in the sake for about a year. On the first sip there is a notion of sake, from the second sip onwards it will have a not-too sweet and fruity flavor. The aftertaste then has a very strong and long lasting notion of ume plum. The brands name "NAGAREUME" literally means floating ume. The word SUKKIRI means refreshing and refers to the not too sweet flavor.
The NIKKA 12 Years from Taketsuru distillery is a wonderful entry to Japanese blended whisky.

The limited edition 2017 is bottled at 43% and includes some single malts aged for over 20 years ins sherry casks as well as some younger single malts that aged in bourbon barrels. The collectors bottle features the stills of the Yamazaki distillery and the Japanese character 山崎 in gold.
